Show you how to walk the dog
Remember the big Aerosmith hit, “if you don’t know how to do it, I’ll show you how to walk the dog . . . ”
Anyway, we all participated in the 2007 See Spot Walk fundraiser for the Idaho Humane Society. Big props to Jeff Rosenthal, DVM, the director and the staff there who had one hell of a week with the 200 dogs rescued in Oregon, and a 3000 dog walk through downtown Boise just days later. That is a lot to ask of volunteers at a non-profit! We had a great time, and the photo below captures the dogs ALMOST paying attention to the camera:

I think you know this motley crew, but just in case, its Jef DeHaven with Maggie Mae. Jef is a 307 resident (as almost all of us have been . . .) - he grew up with Wyatt in Salem, and is finishing his history degree probably because he saw how far it got me. Maggie is a pound dog from southern Arizona and now lives with my mom and dad.
Next there is Preston - the son of C2 - his mutt there is Panache (P-Diddy Nashers). She’s a scary pitt bull (not really) from the Idaho Humane Society.
My dad there has Ruby Sue. Ruby is yet another of the dogs my sister gave to mom and dad. I think Ruby came to live with mom and dad the first time my sister wen to Iraq. Maggie came a while back, but I don’t remember what the impetus was there. Either way they both live here in Idyho now.
Uncle Wyatt has Chili as you’ve seen on these pages before, and I have the ‘cow bella.’ Bella is another one of C2’s lovely animals. I call her the cow because she likes to lay in the dirt, eat grass, and she’s spotted. Plus she’s a little overweight. Damn dog can still jump a six foot fence.
Anyway . . . what else?
Let me see . . . I told you that I went to Seattle. I think I blogged enough about the business aspects of that. When I go to the left coast, I like to see water. So while waiting for the TiE even to start I took a walk over to Meydenbauer Bay. I took this kind of cool shot with my Blackberry. Why didn’t I have my camera?

I also told you that we got the t-shirts, and Uncle Wyatt is getting ready to get those things out the door. Here’s your truly wearing the sliced bread shirt. This shirt says “The best thing since itself.”

This weekend the WHOLE LGM crew is heading to Portland, OR for meetings and some fun of course. There will certainly be some off the hook photos after this escapade.
Until later -
