Entrepreneurship: All Fun and Games
Yeah, yeah, I know it looks like it, but seriously . . .
Wyatt and I attended the two conferences in Portland, and that was very worthwhile. There are some very interesting things afoot in the open source world, and I personally think that they have a better understanding of where the software world is heading than some others. Anywho . . .
We decided to take a LONG DETOUR on the way back from Portland:

Yes, that’s right - that is Uncle Wyatt under the Stonehenge sign!!! Here is further proof:

Ok, ok. So it is Stonehenge the War Memorial in Washington State, but who is counting? This is just outside of Multnomah, along I-84, and just a bit east of the Maryhill Museum. The Stonehenge “replica” was built as a war memorial to those from Klickitat County who died serving our country. Very nice tribute.
It’s a great view from up there on the hill. The photo is looking west toward Mt. Hood in Oregon. That is of course the Columbia River - with Oregon on the left side of the photo, and Washington on the right.

We stopped at a little fruit stand for some nourishment before heading through the long dry stretch of central Oregon:

The drive through central and eastern Oregon can be a bit tedious, so we took a detour through Starkey, which is a few miles South of La Grande, OR. We stopped at the Starley store, which has a large banner proclaiming itself, “Biker Friendly.” I can tell you that is a lie because the Starkey Store doesn’t sell beer. So we had to stop 40 miles south in Granite, OR to grab a cool Hamm’s before heading all the way home to Idyho.

So, I know, I know - it looks like so much fun, but we worked. We added the awesome crew from Opensourcery to our development team! We’re looking forward to great things from them!
And of course when we got home, Uncle Wyatt and I started a new contract research project so we can at least fund the operation of the corporate headquarters for the next couple months. I have heard that Dave and Shane have been working on a major financial issue for Pronetos, and we also did some corporate organizational work with the Unhampered team. Work hard, play hard!
